Nutrients and how they function:

Nutrient elements are classified into three areas; primary, secondary and micro nutrients.

The six external factors: air, light, temperature, water, support and nutrients are generally recognised factors important to the control of plant growth. The role of additional nutrients, supplied in the form of fertilisers, is to inject extra quantities of the essential plant elements into the cycle of plant growth to maintain or raise the level of plant yield. High production depends on ALL essential elements being present in perfect proportions.
